WINDOW 6 REVEALED!
Iconic Iron Throne is theme of final installation in Tourism Ireland’s Game of Thrones legacy trail
It’s the sixth and final week of Tourism Ireland’s 2019 Game of Thrones campaign and the latest ‘Glass of Thrones’ has been revealed in Belfast today – at the Titanic Studios.
This week’s installation represents the show’s iconic Iron Throne – complete with a built-in seat in front of the window, specially designed for great ‘selfies’. After almost a decade of the show’s characters fighting and dying over its ownership, fans and visitors from around the world can now take a seat overlooking the very studios that brought Game of Thrones to life! Tourism Ireland’s message for fans everywhere is: “Come to Northern Ireland and take your rightful place on the throne”.
As the show finally drew to a close this week, Tourism Ireland has also unveiled a great new video about the stained-glass windows – it’s a behind-the scenes look at how these fantastic pieces of artwork were created.

WINDOW 5 REVEALED!
White Walkers captured in fiery colour, complete with glow-in-the-dark eyes, in latest ‘Glass of Thrones’
It’s week five of Tourism Ireland’s 2019 Game of Thrones campaign and another eye-catching installation has been unveiled in Belfast last night (Wednesday, 15 May) – beside the SS Nomadic at Hamilton Dock.
This week’s window, or ‘Glass of Thrones’, is all about the villainous and elusive White Walkers – complete with their eyes painted in striking glow-in-the-dark paint!
Fans can come and check out the world’s favourite White Walker exploits – captured in fiery colours in this week’s stained glass: from Hodor’s final act of self-sacrifice to the Night King’s winged assault on The Wall itself. One final window will be unveiled by Tourism Ireland next week – to coincide with the airing of the dramatic final episode of season 8 – which will bring the globally successful saga to its close.

WINDOW 4 REVEALED!
It’s week four of Tourism Ireland’s 2019 Game of Thrones campaign and the latest ‘Glass of Thrones’ has been revealed in Belfast today - at the SSE Arena.
To celebrate the final series of Game of Thrones, Tourism Ireland — in partnership with HBO — is erecting six beautifully crafted, stained-glass windows around Belfast. When all six windows are up, they’ll form a new Game of Thrones trail in the city, something to celebrate the impact the show has had on the city, and on Northern Ireland, and another great reason for fans from all over the world to come and visit.
Each stained-glass window – or ‘Glass of Thrones’ – is highlighting a key House from the show. This week’s window is all about House Targaryen: from Daenerys’ dragon egg laden re-emergence from the funeral pyre, to Drogon’s fiery onslaught of the gold convoy, this fourth window represents the fans’ favourite, most shared and most discussed Targaryen moments.

WINDOW 3 REVEALED!
It’s week three of Tourism Ireland’s 2019 Game of Thrones campaign and the latest ‘Glass of Thrones’ has been revealed in Belfast today - at the Lagan Weir.
Tourism Ireland’s colourful new Game of Thrones fan trail is appearing around Belfast as the final series of the epic drama unfolds. A new stained glass window – or ‘Glass of Thrones’ – is being unveiled each week, highlighting a key House from the show.
This week’s window is all about House Baratheon: from poison, magic and wild boar wrought regicides, to the war-hammer wielding king, the window represents the fans’ favourite, most shared and most discussed Baratheon moments.
The Tourism Ireland campaign is promoting Northern Ireland, and our Game of Thrones connection, to millions of fans in ten markets right now – including Great Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.
The ‘Glass of Thrones’ trail – immortalising the show’s epic battles, fire-breathing dragons, ice-blue White Walkers and blood red weddings – is one more reason for fans from all over the world to visit this place where much of the phenomenally successful show was filmed. Tourism Ireland’s first ‘Glass of Thrones’ is located opposite the entrance to Belfast City Hall and the second installation is at the Waterfront Hall.

WINDOW 2 REVEALED!
It’s week two of Tourism Ireland’s latest Game of Thrones campaign and the second ‘Glass of Thrones’ has been revealed in Belfast today - at the Waterfront Hall.
As season eight of Game of Thrones unfolds, Tourism Ireland will unveil a new window each week at a key location in Belfast, creating a 1.8-mile legacy trail for fans to visit and follow. Epic battles, fire-breathing dragons, ice-blue white walkers and blood-red weddings are set to be immortalised in stained glass, at various locations around Belfast. And, the experience continues online, where Tourism Ireland will ‘unlock’ a new window each week on its website, Ireland.com, allowing fans all over the world to be part of Northern Ireland’s ‘Game of Thrones Territory’.
Each ‘Glass of Thrones’ will highlight a key House from the show – and the second window represents the trials and tribulations of House Lannister. From Cersei’s shameful walk of atonement to Tyrion’s vengeance act of patricide, the window represents the fans’ favourite, most shared and most discussed Lannister moments.
Tourism Ireland’s first ‘Glass of Thrones’ was revealed last week, opposite the entrance to Belfast City Hall. It pays tribute to House Stark – one of the series' dynasties, based in the harsh northern regions of the fictional Westeros. Other Houses that will be represented over the coming weeks include Baratheon and Targaryen. A new window will be unveiled by Tourism Ireland each week, creating a brand new Game of Thrones pilgrimage for fans to follow in the city where much of the hit show was filmed.

Giant, stained glass installations in Belfast celebrate the legacy of Game of Thrones® in Northern Ireland
A giant, stained glass window was unveiled today opposite the main entrance of Belfast City Hall. The impressive installation is part of Tourism Ireland’s brand new Game of Thrones® campaign – to showcase and celebrate Northern Ireland as Game of Thrones® Territory to millions of fans worldwide. This is the first of six installations to be unveiled over the coming weeks.
After a decade of filming and production in Northern Ireland, Game of Thrones® is finally drawing to a close. Timed to coincide with the eighth and final season, the campaign – called ‘Glass of Thrones’ – has been created by Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI in partnership with HBO. It kicks off today and will roll out to millions of fans in ten markets – including Great Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Scandinavia. It will also be rolled out by Tourism NI in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Over the coming weeks – as each episode of the final season airs – six beautifully crafted, freestanding stained-glass windows will be installed across Belfast. Each window will highlight a key House from the show, with a series of panels depicting the most exciting and talked-about moments from the entire saga. The first window, unveiled today, is all about the House Stark.
Each window will be large enough for fans to pose in front of, for photos and selfies, so they can recreate their own Game of Thrones® photo opp. They can then share the photographs on social media and encourage their friends and fellow fans to come and visit Belfast and Northern Ireland and experience it for themselves!
The stained glass panes have been designed by hand illustrators and are being stained by an artist in Bangor. By the end of series eight, the stained glass windows will form a new Game of Thrones® trail, leading fans across the city to the final window at the Titanic Studios, where much of the show has been produced.
